Yesterday we hosted Southwark’s new Deputy Leader, Cllr Victor Chamberlain at The Bankside Gallery- a fantastic venue and fascinating guest to kick off the first in our upcoming series of Council Leader events to round off 2026.
It was encouraging to see such meaningful conversations around the borough’s future growth, investment opportunities and community priorities since Southwark changed hands from Labour in May for the first time since 2010. Cllr Chamberlain discussed this new chapter for Southwark and his vision for exciting, collaborative development in the borough – not only between the Greens-Lib Dem administration, but between the council and developers – stressing the importance of worthwhile engagement and community buy-in to development success.

Cllr Chamberlain has made clear his view that Southwark’s housing pipeline is in a state of crisis, and put this at the top of his agenda in his new dual-role as Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Neighbourhoods, Strategic Planning, and Wellbeing. A self-declared ‘mouthful’ of a title.
We’re confident to say we’re Southwark’s most active agency, and we’re proud to have delivered over 50 consents across the breadth of the borough – from some of the borough’s largest, landmark redevelopments to some of it’s more compact, but equally delicate, sites. Here’s a snapshot:
